Refund policy
When NamesShift refunds a domain purchase, how to request a refund and how long it takes.
Request a refund within seven days of delivery and, as long as the domain has not completed its transfer to you and has not been modified, we refund the full amount you paid. After the transfer completes the sale is final.
When we refund in full
- You changed your mind before the transfer completed — request within seven days of payment and before the domain lands in your registrar account.
- We cannot deliver the name — for example the domain is no longer under our control, the registry blocks the transfer, or the listing was withdrawn after you paid.
- Duplicate payment — the same order was charged twice. We refund the extra charge as soon as it settles.
- Unauthorised payment — the charge was made without the card or wallet owner's permission. We refund once the payment provider confirms the fraud report.
- Pricing error — you were charged a price we had listed incorrectly and do not want the name at the corrected price.
When we cannot refund
- The transfer already completed — you own the domain, and ownership cannot be reversed unilaterally.
- You changed the domain — after the transfer you altered DNS, registration details, nameservers or the registrar lock. Those changes are outside our control and may break the name.
- More than seven days have passed since the domain was delivered.
- Trademark objections — a third party claims rights in the name you bought. We vet for obvious conflicts, but trademark clearance is the buyer's responsibility.
- Registrar fees — renewal, redemption or transfer fees charged by your registrar are not refundable by us.
- Add-on services already delivered, such as a paid brandable-name consultation if you ordered one.
How to request a refund
- Email support@namesshift.com or use the contact form with the topic “payment”.
- Include the domain name, the email address you paid with, and the request or payment number from your confirmation email.
- Tell us briefly why you want the refund. If the transfer is still in progress, ask us to pause it — the earlier we know, the simpler this is.
- We confirm eligibility within one business day and tell you what happens next.
If you paid by card or wallet, the refund goes back to the same method. We cannot send a refund to a different card or account for fraud-prevention reasons.
How long it takes
- Decision — one business day after we have your request and payment reference.
- Card and wallet refunds — 5 to 10 business days to appear on your statement, depending on your bank.
- Crypto refunds — sent in the original asset to the sending address once confirmed; network fees on the return transaction are deducted.
Failed or duplicate payments
A failed payment does not create a charge — retry the checkout link or ask us for a fresh one. If you see two charges for one order, send both payment references and we refund the duplicate in full. Nothing about a failed payment loses your place in the transfer queue.
Chargebacks
Please talk to us before contacting your bank. A chargeback freezes the refund process, slows the transfer desk and, if it is found to be unfounded, may lead to the account being closed. We provide full documentation — payment confirmation, delivery records and correspondence — to the payment provider for every dispute.
