Straight answers about buying a name, the transfer itself, payments and your account. If your question is not here, the contact form and the chat bubble both reach the same team.

Buying a domain

Offers, checkout and pricing

Is the listed price the final price?

Yes for the purchase itself. The price shown in the listing is what you pay for the name, including our transfer handling. Domain renewal at your own registrar after the transfer is separate and depends on that registrar's rates.

Can I negotiate?

Yes. Use “Make an offer” on any listing. Offers below $50 are not accepted, and we reply to every serious offer — usually within one business day. The asking price stays visible so you know what you are negotiating against.

What happens after I pay?

Your request appears in our transfer desk immediately. We email you to confirm the registrar account and contact details the name should be pushed to, then start the transfer.

Can I buy more than one name at once?

Yes — up to ten names in one checkout request. They are handled in the same conversation, and the total is shown before you pay.

Do you sell to resellers?

Yes, there is no restriction. If you are buying repeatedly, mention it in the checkout request and we will keep one thread for all your transfers.

Transfers

Getting the name into your registrar

How long does a transfer take?

Most .com, .io and .co transfers complete within 1–5 days once you approve the authorization email. Some extensions require manual approval by the registry and can take up to seven days.

What do you need from me?

A registrar account (or the registrar you want to use), the email address on that account, and confirmation that you can receive the transfer authorization message. We handle the unlock and authorization code.

Can you push the domain instead of transferring it?

If the name is at the same registrar as your account, an internal push is faster and we use it when possible. Say so in your checkout request.

Will my website or email break?

The name is not live on our side, so there is nothing to break. If you already have DNS records, add them at your registrar after the transfer — we can hand over the existing records when there are any.

What if the transfer stalls?

Tell us in the same thread and we chase the registrar. If the transfer cannot be completed for a reason on our side, the refund policy applies.

Transfer checklist

  • Registrar account ready and email verified.
  • Authorization email approved when it arrives.
  • Two-factor codes available if your registrar asks.
  • Reply in the same thread with any changes.
Deadline reminder

Registrars expire transfer authorizations after a few days. Approving the message promptly is the single biggest speed-up.

Payments & refunds

Paying, receipts and cancellations

Which payment methods do you accept?

Card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and crypto through Paylio's hosted checkout. If online payment is unavailable, the request is still recorded and we send a payment link by email.

Which currency am I charged in?

Prices are listed in US dollars. Your bank or wallet may add a conversion fee if your card is issued in another currency.

Can I get an invoice?

Yes. Reply to the payment confirmation email with the company name and any tax details, and we send a PDF invoice.

Do you offer refunds?

Yes, within seven days of delivery if the transfer has not been completed and the name has not been changed. Full conditions are in the refund policy.

My payment failed — what now?

Nothing is charged twice. Retry the checkout link, or reply to the email and we send a fresh link. Requests are never lost when a payment fails.

Account & sign-in

Signing in and managing your details

How do I sign in?

Use the email address and password you registered with, or request a one-time code by email. Accounts are secured by Clerk, and sign-in codes expire after a few minutes.

I did not get the code

Check spam and promotions folders first. If nothing arrives within two minutes, retry once — repeated attempts are rate limited for your protection.

How strong must my password be?

At least eight characters, and it is rejected if it appears in a known breach. A long passphrase of four unrelated words is both easier to remember and stronger than a short scramble.

Where are my previous orders?

Signed-in buyers see every offer and checkout request in the account dashboard. Requests made with the same email before signing up are attached automatically.

How do I delete my account?

Email legal@namesshift.com from the address on the account. Records we must retain for tax and anti-fraud purposes are kept for the period stated in the privacy policy.

Still stuck?

Send the email address on your account and, if you have one, the request number from your confirmation email. It saves a round trip.
